THE deeper reefs off Tuross Head continue to fire with most boats getting a feed of snapper, while the reefs south of Bermagui are also producing.

Microjigging was working for some although the technique of adding a squad tentacle to the small metal jig was seen as cheating by some!
In the estuaries, Darren “Dash” Bowater and Mark “Hippie” Carradus had a cracker weekend on Wagonga Inlet getting some very nice flathead and even a school jewfish.
The day will definitely go down as one fishing trip Dash will never forget on Wagonga Inlet.
A few salmon and tailor started the day off, followed by a school jewfish to heat it up a bit, then a flathead fiesta that currentlywas their most successful one in Wagonga Inlet.
The ironic thing is most fish were caught between 9am and 11am – one hour either side of the tide change and almanac time.
Corunna Lake meanwhile is struggling a bit with the flathead scarce for some.
Graham at Tackleworld Moruya reports flathead up to the magical metre mark in the Tuross system with plenty of bream being caught from down in the leases and up river in the snags.
On the rocks and beaches, there have been reports along most of our beaches with large salmon, tailor, bream and some gummy sharks south of Moruya.
Josh at Bermagui Bait & Tackle reports it won’t be long till we see the first marlin of the season for Bermagui with huge amounts of bait off Tuross and the Bait Hole.
They have had a few reports of fish being seen or being raised and one tagged just to the north. The water on the edge was sitting around 20 to 21 degrees and plenty of tide, which has made it hard or those guys wanting to deep drop.
Jan Hemmingsen at the Narooma Sport and Game Fishing Club reports the club welcomed back John Swinhoe from holidays from England. He and Peter Rando caught quite a few striped tuna up to 5kg just east of Montague Island on Sunday using small skirted lures.
NSGFC heads off to Wee Jasper on Monday, but first hosts trivia on this Saturday night commencing at 6pm. Entry is a $2 gold coin donation with supper provided. Lots of fun and prizes so call Sue Waldoc on 0403 140 951.
Bermagui Country Club Social Anglers’ Club meanwhile held a get-together on Sunday and welcomed new members – Lee and Colin Fawcett.
With some members still touring on holiday, active anglers are in the minority. However, Robert Brown made a showing, taking out the onshore trophy this month. Reminder that the next fishing weekend is November 13-15.
