The regional hub of the national movement was launched by Bega Valley resident Dörte Planert on August 12 with the goal of inspiring women to take practical action on climate change by cutting carbon dioxide usage.
Ms Dörte said she welcomes male help, support and co-operation but that the organisation is mainly aimed at women and girls.
“We are all in the same boat, there is no Planet B, let’s join and conquer climate change,” Ms Dörte said. “We are the last generation with choices. The next generations will have to live with the consequences of our actions or inactions.”
The meeting will discuss how to reduce your carbon footprint, how to make the Bega Valley plastic-bag free and it will investigate the groups next projects.
The next meeting will be at Club Bega Bowling Club, 82 Gipps Street, on Wednesday, Septermber 9 running from 5pm until 7pm. For more information and to RSVP email Dörte Planert at planert@bigpond.com.au.
