There were flowers, bears, balls and it seemed like endless cupcakes that all went towards raising vital funds for the Cancer Council on Daffodil Day, Friday, August 28.

Merimbula volunteer Heather York said that many people stopped by to support the Cancer Council fundraiser and also to share their stories of how cancer had touched their lives.
Volunteer Carol Drucza said that local businesses had also supported the event very well, buying bunches of flowers for their ships and offices.
Team leader, Jenny Coleman said: "Thanks to the wonderful support of the public and the business community in Merimbula our stall raised a whopping $2387.”
At Tura Beach, where the bears were a best seller, $1860 was raised. Volunteer Shirley Seychell said: "We were thrilled with the results; people were very generous."
Pambula Public School saw a huge response with cancer sufferer, Tracey Beasley helping to sell around 400 cupcakes, made by volunteers, parents and teachers.
The school raised $1283.35 and one of the organisers Trudy McAlpin, said: "I just couldn't believe how much money we raised. It was a very successful day, we've had a lot of positive comments and it was great to see so many parents and teachers get involved and support Daffodil Day."
The stall in Pambula also enjoyed a very successful day with $2610.50 raised, making over $8000 raised in the local area.
Co-ordinator, Robyn Whitby was delighted with the outcome.
"The support and generosity of the community is fantastic and as co-ordinator I would like to sincerely thank all the volunteers and businesses who supported this annual fundraiser."
The funds go to Cancer Council NSW to help fund local cancer support, prevention and information programs and world class cancer research.
