Catherine Glockman the continence nurse from the Bega Valley Community Health Service was the guest speaker at the meeting held on August 3. Catherine had the entire everyone’s attention as she discussed how and why incontinence is a regular problem with Parkinson suffers. Some frivolity was forthcoming as the subject of incontinence was discussed at length.

Suzie Bashford the neurological nurse specialist gave the group a report on the Parkinson Australia National Conference which she attended in Adelaide. The conference had a number of very important speakers and Suzie's report on what was discussed was very informative.
A rug made from hand spun wool and hand dyed was donated to the group by the Eden Spinners and this beautiful rug will be raffled over the next month.
It was decided at the meeting to have a group luncheon after the next meeting at the Asian restaurant in Bega. The next meeting should be of interest to every member as the guest speaker will be consultant pharmacist, Tania Dwyer who has interesting information about medication for Parkinson Disease which she learnt at a recent conference in Melbourne. This next meeting will be held on September 7 commencing at 10am at Bega Golf Club.
