If your article is an accurate description of what actually occurred, a road crash, one person was injured and a dog had to be rescued then there is clearly an unjustified response and not a well-thought out decision.
Like many Victorians we travel to the area every year. In my case for the last 16 years where the kids have enjoyed the falls and cascades and grown up whilst enjoying the pristine area.
The bureaucrats have now decided it's too risky to actually allow people into the area.
This area is unique and yes there are plenty of other places to explore but not like Nethercote Falls.
I like many others will be walking a bit further next year by the looks of it but won't be deterred by a knee jerk reaction no doubt based on risk to Forestry NSW who would have to provide additional infrastructure to make the area safe.
Of course building a gate is a much cheaper option.
