The Bombala High Heelers' hopes came crashing to an end in a 12-8 loss to the Cooma Fillies as the opener on the day.
Both scores were able to find the line twice with in an excellent free-flowing match, but Cooma was able to find the mark for both conversion kicks.
Unfortunately, the tries to the High Heelers went wanting for the extra two points.
It was a fantastic match with very few penalties blown.
The under 18s saw the Moruya Sharks bounce back from a last round defeat to overcome the Cooma Stallions 24-4.
Cooma had a few opportunities, but desperate line defence by the Moruya squad kept them short on a number of occasions.
At the other end, the Sharks had a few runaway players to score some quick tries under the posts and blowout the scoreline.
The reserve grade clash also saw a blowout scoreline with Candelo-Bemboka upsetting the home side 48-10.
It was an even match early on, but with some key players sidelined, the Tigers were a bit weary in the later stages.
An icy wind had blown in with bouts of rain as the Panthers ran in repeated tries.
A standout for the CBU club was kicker Josh Cochrane, who cleared every conversion effort.
The final game was a tense and muddy battle with Eden trailing slightly in the first half.
Cooma were able to make a run down the ruck and score early, but later added a second try and conversion to jump out to a 12-0 lead.
The Tigers bounced back, but foundt it difficult to kick against the wind. The Tigers scored a duo of tries, one to Zac Slater of a brilliant 60-metre left side run.
The other to Liam Wilkinson down the right wing.
However, the Tigers were awarded a penalty seconds before the half-time buzzer from 30 out, the kick added the score favoured Cooma 12-10 at the break.
