As part of the Bottle for Botol program, the year 10 commerce class are selling high quality stainless steel drink bottles and with each drink bottle sold another one is sent to a student in Indonesia.
The students said they want to help towards combating single-use plastic consumption in Indonesia as well as to ensure that students there don’t have to drink sewage water.
The class, along with their teacher Wendy Mockler were selling the drink bottles on Market Street on Tuesday, July 21 and are planning to be there again on Friday, July 31 at around 2pm.
“The kids were proud as punch after selling the drink bottles on Tuesday,” Ms Mockler said.
“I don’t think they were expecting to sell so many and they loved feeling part of the community and doing something positive.”
For $20 you can purchase two drink bottles, one to keep and one to help someone in need. The drink bottles can also be personalised with free engravings.
The bottles will also be available from Lumen Christi at the front office or the canteen. For more information contact the school on 6495 8888.
