Find out in Spectrum Theatre Group’s next production, ‘Moonlight and Magnolias’. It's the comedy behind the eight-time academy award winning film.
Written by Ron Hutchinson and directed by Amber Little, the play has just been cast and is now in rehearsal at Twyford Hall, Merimbula.
Audiences will get a unique look at life in the office of Hollywood movie mogul David O.Selznick (Simon Lovatt), who has called upon script writer Ben Hecht (Jesse Tankard) and the famous Hollywood director Victor Fleming (Sam Roberts) to help rewrite the script in five days.
With the help of these two insanely funny characters and the very efficient secretary, Miss Poppenguhl (Stephanie Gibbs) audiences will laugh along as they watch the writers bring to life such legendary characters such as Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler.
Moonlight and Magnolias is a must see show for any ‘Gone with the Wind’ fan or anyone who maybe just wants to remember the old Hollywood.
The performance season is between Saturday, August 29 and Saturday, September 12 for six shows only (five cabaret style evenings and one matinee). Tickets go on sale July 1. Bookings can be made online at www.spectrumtheatregroup.com.au
