The grants allow not-for-profit, incorporated community groups and council to apply for funding for infrastructure and facilities.
Local successful 2014 recipients included:
* $60,111 to the Merimbula Rural Fire Service for the construction of extensions to the current station to accommodate training rooms, storage, wash facilities and become an all ability access station.
* $50,000 to Twyford Hall Inc. for the installation of a new Kitchen and facilities and refurbishment of the current space, to include, tiling, painting, flooring and lighting.
* $12,000 to the Bega Men’s Shed to make the newly constructed Men’s shed all ability accessible, to include disabled parking, amenities, Electrical and Plumbing.
* $10,000 to the Bega Girl Guides for renovations and refurbishment to the guide hall, to include replacement of windows and interior roof repairs.
* $5,000 to the Eden Amateur Fishermens Club for roof extensions, concreting of the covered area and incorporating of a disability access ramp.
* $2,000 to the Wyndham Men’s Shed for the purchase of tools and equipment.
