In conjunction with former internationals Michael Wilks and James Reynolds, Glasson will be sharing his skills with about 60 eager bowlers.
A session will run on Saturday as part of the newly launched Sapphire Coast Bowling Academy for lawn bowlers with less than six years’ experience.
The academy launched last week with 45 bowlers from Eden, Merimbula, Tura Beach, Tathra and Bega, but organisers are expecting a bigger crowd for a training session with Glasson.
The session is the first of many planned events for the academy, which will also feature tournaments and challenge matches with Victorian and Canberra clubs.
“The idea of the concept is to develop the sport in our region and provide opportunities for all local bowlers, not just those at the strong clubs,” Wilks said of the endeavour.
“It’s a significant undertaking, but we are well on track for successful outcomes.”
The session on Saturday will provide an excellent chance to gain first hand skills and advice from the current Australian bowling coach.
