Over the years PAPPA members have achieved many things to help make Pambula the thriving town it is today, but it is now at a crossroads, the group said and to continue it needs new enthusiastic and energetic members.
In 1993, PAPPA joined forces with the Pambula Public School P&C to establish a community recycling centre at a time when mass recycling wasn’t undertaken.
The centre earned a total of $64,000 over its 16-year life ($32,000 of which went to the school). The centre closed when the council introduced kerbside collection of recyclable materials.
Over the years funds have been used to help and support many projects and organisations including Panboola, Sapphire Aquatic Centre, Pambula Landcare, Pambula Main Street Gardeners, the two Pambula Community Gardens, Pambula Community Bank and children’s playground,
Recently PAPPA has donated $6,000 towards the new steel bridge and proposed new eagle sculpture at Panboola.
All interested parties are encouraged to attend. For more information contact Gail McCombie on 6495 7168.
