In reply to Mr Xuereb's comments in the News Weekly on Wednesday May 13, it appears Mr Xuereb does not have all the correct information.

I have lived at Mirador for 17 years and have had dealings with council over this period regarding the Emergency Access.
It took us 10 years to get the Emergency Access that we currently have. That included getting councillors, the News Weekly, and the local Member of Parliament at the time involved. Yes the road is in need of some repairs before it washes totally away and I have emailed council twice recently regarding this matter.
The current situation is fine and if Mr Xuereb had taken the time to speak to those who know what has transpired over the years he would have received the correct information. The road to Berrambool from Camilla Court was not closed off when complaints were lodged by some residents. It was closed when Mirador Drive opened.
When it was blocked off by council with big boulders and there was no way at all to get out. The land owned by council had to be filled to make an access and this is only a small section of land at the end of Camilla Court.
The remaining land at the end of Camilla Court is owned by the developers, not council, this section of land has been maintained and cleared by residents since the access road went in and the whole area is so much safer particular for people walking.
Council does need to repair the sections of road that have been washed away this may mean diverting the water run off that runs down the road.
I will not be signing any petition to have the road open permanently.
I'm sure Mr Xuereb has not thought about the extra traffic flow for Berrambool Drive and Camilla Court as neither street could handle that amount of extra traffic. Mr Xuereb should have considered this before recently moving to the area and purchasing land.
