The march had reached the memorial, the four Light horse representatives from Bemboka were in position and Tony Heriot, of Wyndham had started the service when it started to rain.

Umbrellas were unfurled, rain jackets found and most looked as though they wouldn't worry but then it started to get rather more serious and the band indicated that members wouldn't be able to blow instruments that were filling up with water.
Fortunately the nearby hall was already set for afternoon tea and so everyone scurried inside just as the heavens opened and the storm really got underway.
Although a bit wet, everyone happily carried on with the Wyndham Anzac Day service and as one lady said: "Well this is one we won't forget."
