THE Relay for Life held in Pambula on the weekend had many highlights, and Cancer Council NSW community relations coordinator Sarah Flynn shared a few.
Sophie Martin from the Candelo Public School team was sponsored $500 to walk for 24 hours, so even though the relay opened at 2pm, she was there bright and early at 9am and walking while everything was set up around her.
Candelo School were in fact the highest fundraising school in the whole Bega Valley.
The inaugural Spirit of Relay award went to Coralie Pickering, for her work throughout the past 18months holding multiple fundraising events for her team Be.Me.Be.
Luke Meyers won the Honorary Committee Member award for his help in setting up, during and packing down the relay
Roxygen played a set to the night walkers after the Hope Ceremony and blew everyone away once again.
Relay for Life 2015 will be held on October 10-11.
