Bega Valley Shire Council’s acting general manager, Wayne Sartori, said that at this stage Transpacific trucks required inspection and then approval to operate before recommencement of this service.
“For householders, this means bins that were to be collected today (Wednesday) in the Tura (red bins only), Kalaru, Mogareeka, Tathra (red, yellow and green) and Black Range, Bournda, Jellat Jellat and Wallagoot (red and yellow bins) will now be collected on Thursday, 21 August, with organics collections to these areas commencing Friday and Saturday,” he said.
“This will have a flow on effect for the regular Thursday and Friday collections, and some Thursday pickups may not occur until Friday.
“Council asks that all unemptied bins be left out until Saturday afternoon.”
Mr Sartori said householder co-operation in this matter would be appreciated.
