Commuters trying to get to work and school were delayed as northbound traffic was diverted off Arthur Kaine Drive into Dunns Lane and around Fishpen while traffic heading south was diverted into Fishpen Road exiting back onto Arthur Kaine from Dunns Lane. A break in the water main in the early hours of the morning at the entrance to the causeway bridge was the culprit.
Further emergency repair work including resealing the road will be undertaken from Saturday, August 9 until Tuesday, August 12 between the hours of 6am and 6pm.
Council has said that the work will extend to Merimbula Bridge and the intersection will be under traffic control during this time with possible delays of up to 20 minutes.
Travellers can avoid potential delays by using the Millingandi bypass.
Council apologises for any inconvenience that this work may cause. For further information please contact James Downes on 0428 260 996.
