Members of the Zen Dragon Boat Club and Sapphire Water Dragons were presented with medals and certificates from the National Dragon Boat Championships held earlier this year, at an informal function at Ritzy's Wine Bar, Merimbula last week.

A total of nine members of the two local dragon boating clubs were selected in a rigorous training and testing regime over many months, to be part of the regional NSW dragon boat team which included paddlers from south, noth and west NSW.
At the National Dragon Boat Championships on the Sunshine Coast in April, the NSW regional reps won gold in the Womens A, Mixed and Open divisions, with the Womens B team taking the Bronze over the distance of 500 metres.
The squad also received signed certificates in recognition of their representation of the state.
Head coach Chris Cheung said the team's hard work and commitment over several months was evident with the results the best he had ever seen from a regional squad.
Due to a medal mix up at the National Dragon Boat Championships the medals arrived three months after the event.
