The entries totalled 312 with players from 78 clubs around Australia.
The event was played on four of the Sapphire Coast’s best golf courses – Bega Country Club, Eden Gardens Country Club, Pambula- Merimbula Golf Club and Tura Beach Country Club.
The tournament featured daily individual stableford events at each of the courses, with scores from all these events tallied overall.
The overall winners were crowned the King and Queen of Clubs.
This year’s winners were David Cunningham and Pam Pain.
The crowning ceremony was carried out at a reception at the Pambula-Merimbula Golf Club following the final day’s play.
Pambula-Merimbula Golf Club captains Bruce Morley and Lynne Bothamley and ladies president Maureen McArdle presented the winners with their crowns.
Cunningham, playing off a handicap of 25, won the tournament with an overall total of 149 points.
Runner-up was Neil Hinds from Apollo Bay with a total score of 141 points.
Hot on their heels was local golfer Gerard Kelly from Eden with a total score of 140.
Meanwhile, the Queen of Clubs, Pam Pain, playing off a handicap of 26 produced an overall total of 121 points.
She placed second in individual events at Eden and Pambula-Merimbula.
Runner-up was Bernadette Clark from Garfield with a total score of 117 points.
Third place in the women’s event went to Tracey Harwood with a total score of 114.
Organisers said many of the courses were damp after several weeks of rain and created a challenging environment.
However, conditions held up for the four days of competition.
Meanwhile, a feature of this year’s event was large numbers of entries from a number of clubs to make strong teams.
Medway Golf Club in Melbourne featured heavily during the event with 56 entrants in total.
Other large representations included 22 golfers from Korumburra, 20 from Belmont, 17 from Murrumbidgee and 15 from Queanbeyan.
