ORRCA (Organisation for the Rescue and Research of Cetaceans in Australia) is asking for individuals and groups to sign up to their annual whale count on Sunday, June 29.
Whale spotters should position themselves on a headland, lookout, on the water, or anywhere they can spot whales to take part in this important citizen-scientist event.
Organisers advise anyone wishing to participate, to register with them, so they can receive the sighting forms and guide notes required for the census.
ORRCA is a not-for-profit all-volunteer organisation with charity status, established in 1985 to assist the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) with stranded whales and dolphins. ORRCA is the only wildlife carer group in New South Wales licensed to be involved with marine mammal rescue, rehabilitation and release.
To register, or for more information, contact ORRCA: orrca@orrca.org.au or call 02 9415 3333
