The start of the second Merimbula Fun Run saw numbers increase by 50 per cent with registrations up to 646 on Sunday morning, May 25. Under clear skies and fabulous weather, the first couple of hundred runners took off for the 10km run.

First home was Olympic and Commonwealth athlete Martin Dent who set the pace with a provisional time of 30.57 minutes.
The 5km fun run/walk had over 400 participants including six who had only just finished the 10km run.
President of the Merimbula Chamber of Commerce, Natalie Godward said that was a wonderful event and very exciting to have such elite athletes running.
