On Wednesday, April 16 Rocky Hall Winery owners, Sue O’Rourke and Clint Bradley open the doors on a new venture, a cellar door and tasting room in Quondola Street, Pambula next to Wild Rye’s.

It has taken around 11 months for the licence to come through but Sue said that they were “ecstatic” and will also stock produce from local cheese, olive and smoked fish producers. There are also plans for special tasting evenings when the two vignerons will match wines to local produce.
One of the innovations that Sue and Clint will be introducing is selling some of their wine in a refillable bottle. Sue said: “When the opportunity first presented itself we talked about being in France and buying wine directly from the barrel. This idea (of refillable bottles) just fits with us and how we feel about our customers.”
Sue and Clint have been making wine since 2002, and started by making it for other people while their own vineyard came on stream. In 2008 they released the first of their own wines and have been regulars at shows and local markets since.
Sue said: “It’s the tyranny of distance. No one is going to come out to Rocky Hall but we did learn a lot from doing the markets. This opportunity is just fantastic and ticks all the boxes.
The cellar door will open Wednesday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm although times may vary from winter to summer.
